OnePlus Nord 2 5G Launched In India Starting at Rs. 27999, With Dimensity 1200, 50MP Camera, 65W Charging

OnePlus just launched its latest mid-range smartphone OnePlus Nord 2 5G in the Indian market, the successor to the first Nord that was launched last year. This new Oneplus Nord 5G features a MediaTek Dimensity chipset, 50MP triple camera setup, 65W Warp charging, and more.

Price and Availability

The new Nord 2 has a price tag of Rs. 27999 for the 6GB+128Gb base variant. The 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB high-end variants will available for Rs. 29999 and Rs. 34999, respectively.

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G will be available for open sale at OnePlus.in, Amazon India, OnePlus Experience Stores, Reliance Digital, Croma, Vijay Sales starting from July 28th. The OnePlus Red Club and Amazon Prime members will get early access to the Nord 2 on 26th July.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G Specification

Starting with the design, the Nord 2 looks quite similar to the younger cousin the Oneplus 9R, especially from the backside. It has a flat display with a punch-hole camera on the front and a rectangular camera module on the backside. The phone is available in three different color variants. The Blue Haze and Gray Sierra, boast a shiny back panel with a glass back whereas the Green Woods variant has a leathery back panel.

Coming to the display, the Oneplus Nord 2 comes with a 6.43-inch Full-HD+ Fluid AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. The display panel has a 2400 x 1080p resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, and sRGB color gamut support. The display also supports AI Color Boost in apps like YouTube, MX Player, and VLC to deliver improved color science. It also boasts that upscales any content from apps like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat to HD resolution.

The Nord 2 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI 5G chipset. The OnePlus has worked closely with MediaTek to collaborate on the SoC and enhance its AI-based features on this chipset. It has 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage support. It runs on the latest Android 11 with OxygenOS 11.3, and the Nord 2 is the first OnePlus phone to feature a ColorOS codebase. The company promises two Android updates and three years of security updates for this phone.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G

On the camera department, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G has a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with OIS support, an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree FOV, and a 2MP mono lens. The rear camera supports 4K@30fps video recording, Nightscape Ultra mode, and a variety of AI features

For selfies, it has a single 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor on the front. The front camera also supports a Group Shots 2.0 feature that can detect up to 5 people in a shot. Its AI capability also improves skin details and eye counters in selfies.

On the connectivity department, the Oneplus Nord 2 supports a total of 7 5G bands in India – n41, n78, n40, n79 in NSA, and n1, n3, and n28a bands in SA. It also has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 (with aptX, aptX HD, AAC, and LDAC support), NFC, and other sensors onboard.

The Nord 2 has a 4,500mAh battery, bigger than the 4,115mAh battery of the original Nord, with 65W fast-charging support. The phone also includes an under-display optical fingerprint sensor, dual-SIM 5G, dual-stereo speakers, and more.
