After introducing the smartphone market with their latest chipsets, Dimensity 900 and 800U at the start of 2021, MediaTek is back in the headline by unveiling their upcoming two new processes for mid-range 5G smartphones, Dimensity 920 and Dimensity 810. These two chipsets will offer enhanced performance, dual 5G SIM support, and boosted imaging power for 5G devices.

Dimensity 920

Dimensity 920 is the successor of the on-demand 900 chipset. It is an upgraded version of its predecessor in various aspects. If you talk about its build, the Dimensity 920 is built on 6nm SoC and comes along with an Octa-Core CPU that is backed by Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.5Ghz speed. In terms of gaming, it will provide 9% better gaming performance than Dimensity 900, all thanks to the Arm Mali-G68 MC4 GPU installed in it.

If we talk about the RAM and Storage support, the Dimensity 920 will support LPDDR4, and LPDDR5 RAM along with UFS 2.1, and UFS 3.1 storage. In the connectivity region, the upcoming MediaTek chipset will support Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NavIC, and many more. For providing enhanced video quality, the chipset has been provided the support of 2560×1080 pixels display at a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

Lastly, in terms of video coding, the upcoming MediaTek chipset can encode in H.264, H.265/HEVC. Moreover, the chipset can easily do 4K recording and handle a single 108-megapixel camera or two 20 megapixel cameras.

Dimensity 810

810

Dimensity 810 has the support of both, Cortex-A55, and Cortex-A76 clocked at 2.4 GHz. Again it is built on a 6 nm chipset, and you will get seamless game performance because of the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. However, in Dimesity 810 you get limited RAM and Storage support, i.e. LPDDR4x and UFS 2.2 respectively.

In the connectivity region, the upcoming chipset from MediaTek will support 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, NavIC, GPS, and many more. For providing enhanced video quality, the chipset has been provided the support of 2560×1080 pixels display at a refresh rate of 120 Hz. And lastly, the SoC can manage a single 64-megapixel camera or dual 16-pixel camera.
