After too many rumors and leaks, Google just launched the new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones at its fall launch event. Both Pixel devices come with the company’s first in-house custom mobile chip called Google Tensor, Titan M2 Security chip, and 5G SA/NSA connectivity. The Google Pixel 6 feature a 6.4-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, while Pixel 6 Pro has a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are the first devices that come with Android 12 out of the box. The company also confirmed that both phones will receive OS updates are at 3 years and security updates for at least 5 years. On the camera front, both phones come with a 50MP primary lens with a Samsung GN1 sensor. There is a 12MP ultrawide lens. The Pixel 6 Pro also features a 48MP telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom and Super Res Zoom lets you zoom up to 20x. This time both phones also offer Tensor’s custom image processor for built-in computational photography with Portrait Mode, Night Sight, Magic Eraser, and Face Unblur.
Coming to design, the Pixel 6 will come with an aluminum frame with a matte finish, and the Google Pixel 6 comes with a polished aluminum frame. Both devices have Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the front, while Pixel 6 Pro also has protection on the back. Yes, both smartphones also offer IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Moving to the battery, the Pixel 6 offers a 4614mAh battery and the Pixel 6 Pro has a 5000mAh battery. This is the biggest offering we saw on the Pixel phone, to date. The company says that the Pixel 6 Pro will capable to provide up to 24h hours battery backup, even on 5G. Both Pixel phones support 30W wired fast charging that can charge the Pixel 6 Pro’s battery up to 50% in just 30 mins.

The Pixel 6 Pro available in Stormy Black, Sorta Sunny and Cloudy White colour options and is priced at $899 (67490 Rs approx.) for the 12GB + 128GB variant, $999 (74995 Rs approx.) for the 12GB + 256GB variant and the top-end 12GB + 512GB variant costs $1099 (82500 Rs approx.)
The Google Pixel 6 comes in Stormy Black, Kinda Coral, and Sorta Seafoam colors and it is priced at $599 (44970 Rs approx.) for the 8GB + 128GB variant and the 8GB + 256GB variant costs $699 (52480 Rs approx.)
Both phones are available to purchase from today and will be available from stores and major U.S. carriers starting on October 28th. No details about the India launch yet.
