Ola has launched their much-awaited electric scooters – OLA S1 and OLA S1 Pro, and what better day they could have chosen other than the 75th Independence day of India for the launch event. The scooters are available at an introductory price of Rs. 99,999 (ex-showroom), and Rs. 1,29,999 (ex-showroom) respectively.
Ola, the firm that is known for its cab services has now entered the electric scooters genre. All the Ola electric scooters will be manufactured in Tamilnadu in the factory named, “Ola FutureFactory”. The facility has the capacity of manufacturing 10 million units annually. And from here, Ola will fulfill the need of rapidly increasing electric scooter demand in the country.

The electric scooter from Ola comes with a plethora of features that are enough to support Indian customers. It features a fully digital 7-inch touch screen display that offers various connectivity options, 50-liters of luggage putting space which is the biggest in the electric scooter segment, cruise control, LED lighting setup, fast charging, built-in speakers, and voice command feature.
In terms of battery, the Ola S1 features a 3.9 kWh battery that helps the scooter to deliver a peak power of 8.5kW. The 750W portable charger provided with the scooter can charge the battery from 0 to 100 in 6 hours. Whereas, the Ola Supercharger can charge the battery from 0 to 50 in just 18 minutes. Another aspect in which Ola S1 electric scooter has surprised the customers is the range that it offers on a single charge. On a single complete charge, the Ola Electric Scooter can cover 181 km. This figure is again the biggest in the electric scooter segment available in the Indian market.
The Ola Electric Scooter offers three riding modes – Normal, Sports, and Hyper. And for the speed lovers, the scooter can go from 0 to 40 kmph in just 3 seconds, and 0 to 60 in just 5 seconds. This kind of acceleration is only possible because of the 8.5 kW power that it offers on a single tap. Whereas, the recorded top speed of this Ola scooter is 115 kmph.
Lastly, if we talk about the color options available, the Ola S1 Electric Scooter is available in 10 color variants that include Black, White, Blue, Red, Yellow, Purple, and the rest. Moreover, it’ll be interesting to find out how the Ola Electric Scooter will perform against its top rivals such as TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak Electric, and Ather 450X.
